Can you imagine what it would be like to have your eyelashes turned inward so they rubbed against your eyes – all the time?!  Well that’s just what this sweet boy has been living with for months and he needs help to have his eyes fixed.

Romeo has a condition called Entropion, which is an inward rolling of the eyelid edges.  In Romeo’s case, he has the condition in both eyes and it has gone untreated long enough that both eyes have crusted shut from the irritation and discharge.

We need to raise the funds to pay for the surgery to have Romeo’s eyes fixed.  Our Fuzzy Friends Fund was established to help in situations just like this.  We don’t currently have enough in the fund to cover this procedure so your donation today will help Romeo find relief

The No More Homeless Pets KC, Pet Uplift Program has been working with Romeo’s family for some time and it all started back when Romeo was just born.  PUP came across a momma dog chained to her doghouse where she had given birth to 6 puppies.  The PUP team helped the owners with a better doghouse, food, and other supplies.  Precious was a good mother and once the puppies were big enough Precious and five of the puppies were brought to NMHPKC for spay/neuter.   Romeo stayed behind because he was still too little to be fixed.

Three of the puppies were adopted out through our Animal Haven partnership and the family found homes for two others.  The family decided to keep Romeo.  When we checked back in to see if Romeo was ready for his neuter, our PUP volunteer found a very sad little dog.  Both of his eyes were crusted shut from the discharge to the point he couldn't even open them.  He’d been that way for awhile and we knew he needed help.  That’s when we found out about the Entropion.

It takes surgery to correct this condition and Romeo’s family does not have the means to have the surgery done. We need to help little Romeo find relief.  Please donate now to help Romeo and other pets like him that just need a little help to have a better life.  Thank you for your kindness.
